Meat-Free Fridays

By March 12, 2015No Comments

Until very recently meat was viewed as a luxury or privilege which is one of the reasons many faiths (not just Catholics) avoid eating meat on Fridays during Lent until Easter Sunday. Abstainence does not have to mean lack of flavor or substance. Lehman’s Deli has plenty of Lent-friendly choices to make meat-free Fridays gratifying.  The Lenten Season gives us the opportunity to showcase a lot of food that we serve everyday that do not revolve around meat.

We have the customary ever popular Deep Fried Fish Platters with french fries, cole slaw, roll & butter or the non-traditional Salmon Burger Patty with a zesty dill mayo. Our rich and creamy decadent Lobster Bisque is  the closest thing to heaven.

For those of you that are a bit squeamish about seafood, we feature a variety of meatless options to consider. Such as our famous delicious Macaroni and Cheese (you’ll never buy the blue box again!) or our Cream of Tomato Soup that is a customer favorite.

If it is the lighter, healthier fare you are looking for, we offer homemade Red Pepper Hummus and Veggies, Veggie Sandwiches or Fresh Leafy Salads with your choice of dressing.
